Adam Candelaria

Picture
Adam serves as InDiGO's Chief Operations Officer and is passionate about Outdoor Education, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), and Arts-integrated learning. He brings a wealth of experience from his roles as a Teaching Artist, Mentor, OST (Out-of-School-Time) Site Coordinator, and Creative Operations Director. Adam values an integrative approach to SEL, believing that fostering emotional intelligence better equips young people to handle life's challenges and opportunities, leading to greater success and happiness.

In addition to his youth development background, Adam's expertise in graphic design, illustration, videography, and photography has made him an invaluable member of the team. He creates media to communicate InDiGO's values, missions, and initiatives.

Adam's graphic design work includes projects for notable organizations such as Johns Hopkins University, Friends School, Roland Park Elementary, McKim Center, and the Holistic Life Foundation. Additionally, he has collaborated with psychologists, psychiatrists, and pediatricians to educate communities on early childhood development through his creative work. Adam is also a children's book illustrator and author, having published his science comic book, The Garden Part 1, in early 2024.
Adam is excited to continue working with youth and developing engaging, interactive resources that make learning fun and exciting. His ability to tell stories through media helps capture and share inspiring moments from InDiGO’s work with youth. Adam is committed to using his creative skills and leadership experience to make a real difference in young people's lives and help them reach their full potential.
