Residency Projects

By illuminating the connections between Nature, Academics, the Arts, and SEL, we guide educators to access and develop their own inner power and unique approach to create healthier learning environments and increase intrinsic motivation within their students.
Learn More About Integrative Academics
A residency project focuses on empowering a particular educator with integrative tools and frameworks to teach a specific academic concept. As opposed to a professional development workshop that only includes educators, a residency project includes an educator and their students. We collaboratively plan and design a customized integrative and project-based series of lessons with individual educators according to their academic goals. We then co-teach and facilitate the unified series with their class or group.
This "Graph-iti" project for 4th-5th Math is just one example of how a teacher can inspire their students to utilize long-division and measurement to create an art piece that is centered on their paper, and shares their message with the world.

Students have used this project to create messaging around everything from self-affirmations, to peace and non-violence campaigns. The important part of our unifying approach is that each student creates something meaningful to them. Each project
synthesizes and synergizes knowledge and experiences from the past into new pathways forward.
This is just one example of an InDiGO Residency Project that integrates
Math, Visual Arts, SEL, and much, much more.

LEARN HOW TO DEVELOP THIS PROJECT INTO AN INTEGRATIVE EXPEDITION
Like every point on the planet is one intersection of a more extensive, integrative system, every academic topic is one intersection of a constellation of other physical, emotional, relational, cultural, creative, intellectual, and spiritual inroads to the same concept. One major problem is that we are so busy "driving" down one particular road most of the time, we forget to pause at the intersection to examine the constellated connections. Learn more about integrative academics and integrative expeditions we offer.

We guide educators to connect Nature, Academics, The Arts, and SEL within their own hearts and minds. Our primary goal in our professional development workshops is to facilitate this subtle yet major mindset shift within our audience. We provide frameworks and tools for educators to more easily design integrative lessons by illuminating the natural connections that flow from their academic goals, ideally leading to their students' passions, interests, and motivations.

Through our unifying approach, our professional development workshops empower educators to make their approach more holistic and student-centered by exploring the ways that academic concepts have personal meaning and relevance to their students. By illuminating the connections between Nature, Academics, the Arts, and SEL, we guide educators to access and develop their own inner power and unique approach to create healthier learning environments and increase intrinsic motivation within their students.
